Welcome to India's leading
fresh banana export company

STORY

Our Story

MASADA FRUITS PRIVATE LIMITED is one of India's foremost fresh produce trading and export companies, specialising in the procurement and global supply of farm-fresh Cavendish G9 bananas. Built on decades of experience in the Indian agricultural trade, Masada has grown from a trusted regional wholesaler into an internationally recognised exporter, supplying buyers across the Gulf, Southeast Asia, and beyond with premium export-grade produce year-round.

Masada's performance in actual figures

We have achieved consistent performance across sourcing, quality control, and international logistics. Our operations span procurement directly from well-maintained banana farms across India, rigorous pack house processing, and container-level cold chain management — all the way to the destination port. Our standing is best described by these figures:

  • 200+ reefer containers of fresh bananas exported annually;
  • Cavendish G9 (Grand Naine) as flagship variety, recognised across Gulf and SE Asian markets;
  • Primary trading partnerships spanning India, Iran, Africa, and China;
  • Key export destinations including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Indonesia;
  • Dispatch capability from Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Cochin seaports;
  • A dedicated team of sourcing, quality, and export logistics specialists.

Our strength lies in our deep-rooted relationships with growers, our uncompromising approach to export-grade quality, and our ability to move high volumes without sacrificing consistency. Every container that leaves our facility has been through a meticulous process of selection, grading, pre-cooling, and quality inspection — because we believe the true test of a supplier is not the first shipment, but every shipment thereafter.

Today, Masada is an active participant in both the export and import sides of the fresh produce trade. On the export front, our flagship product — the Cavendish G9 (Grand Naine) banana — is sourced from India's most productive growing regions and prepared to the exacting standards demanded by Gulf and Southeast Asian buyers. On the import side, we bring in premium apples, dates, kiwi, and select seasonal produce from Iran, Africa, and China, making Masada a full-service fresh produce trading house rather than a single-direction operator.

Two-way trade, one standard of quality

The import side of Masada's business is an extension of the same philosophy. Whether we are sourcing Hayward kiwi from Iran, Red Delicious apples from the highlands of Central Asia, or dates from established origins across the Middle East, we apply the same grading discipline, cold chain rigour, and documentation standards we hold our banana exports to. Our buyers receive produce that is inspected, certified, and traceable — not simply consolidated and shipped.

We welcome cooperation with B2B importers, distributors, wholesalers, and supermarket chains looking for a single, dependable source across multiple fresh produce categories. Grow your business by partnering with a team that has already invested in the quality systems, the farm relationships, and the logistics capability to deliver.

Masada's sourcing network spans India's most productive banana-growing belts, with direct relationships with farmers who have supplied us across multiple seasons. This continuity is deliberate — we do not source opportunistically.

Process

Farm-level quality check — Team checks diameter, calibre, and maturity age of plants before harvest, preventing premature ripening in transit.

Pack house — Bunches transported to pack house attached to cold storage. Hands manually cut, washed in three separate water tanks, air dried, then packed in HDPE transparent bags.

Grading & rejection — Fingers with black spots, scratches, friction burns, solar radiation damage, or insect bites (mosquito, aphid, jassid) are rejected. AMAP, CAP, and MAP applied with controlled O₂, CO₂, and ethylene gas levels per carton.

Pre-cooling — Cartons held at 13.5°C, 85–90% RH for 12–14 hours before loading, stabilising internal fruit temperature.

Container loading — 40 FT HC Reefer at +13°C to +14°C, 85–95% RH, ventilation 25–60 CMH, dehumidification off. Gulf shipments: 7 kg / 13 kg cartons (2,650 / 1,540 boxes per container). European spec: 18.5 kg cartons.

Dispatch & tracking — Shipped from Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Cochin. Every shipment includes test reports and lab certificates, tracked from stuffing to arrival.

QUALITY

Quality

Quality at Masada is not a final checkpoint — it is a system applied at every stage of our supply chain, from soil to container seal. We adhere to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in close partnership with our grower network, prioritising the use of high-yielding disease-free planting material raised through tissue culture, high-density planting with drip irrigation and fertigation, and timely bunch management including appropriate bunch covering, sucker control, and weed management. Our integrated pest management (IPM) programme controls rhizome weevil, nematodes, and leaf spot disease across our sourcing farms, ensuring clean, disease-free produce from the very first stage.

At the farm level, we reject any fruit showing physical damage from handling, friction burns, solar radiation, insect bites, or climate-induced black spots and scratches — before it ever reaches the pack house. This is not a post-harvest corrective measure; it is a preventive one. Only fruit meeting our calibre, maturity, and appearance standards proceeds to processing.

In the pack house, quality inspection is conducted at multiple points: during three-stage washing, during grading, during packing, and again before container stuffing. Our Physico-Chemical process controls include monitoring of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and ethylene gas levels within each carton. Using CA (Controlled Atmosphere) Reefer containers wherever possible, we maintain the ideal gas environment throughout transit — directly controlling the ripening rate and preserving eating quality at the point of delivery.

Temperature and humidity are treated as non-negotiable throughout the chain. Storage and transport at +13°C to +14°C with 85–95% relative humidity and ventilation set to 25–60 CMH is the standard from pack house to port to destination warehouse. Our team monitors parameters at every handover point, ensuring continuity of the cold chain regardless of transit duration or port of entry.

All shipments are supported by full test reports and laboratory certifications. We follow international standards for each product category and destination market, adapting our documentation and inspection protocols to the import requirements of Gulf, Southeast Asian, and other buyer markets. The goal remains consistent: when a container is opened at the destination port, the quality inside should match exactly what was inspected and agreed before the order was placed.

During the growing cycle, our partner farms follow a structured bunch management programme — covering bunches with UV-treated sleeves immediately after emergence to prevent sunburn, insect damage, and surface scarring. Hands are thinned where necessary to ensure uniform finger development and consistent calibre across the entire bunch. These are not cosmetic measures. They directly determine the percentage of export-grade fingers per harvest, and therefore the economics of every shipment.
